A simple dilated eye exam is not adequate for our purposes. A Note to Referring Ophthalmologists Many patients' vision is more impared than we realize, since they usually display normal vision on a Snellen acuity chart. But we have documented intermittant impairment of vision to 20/400 in cases of dense fibrillar degeneration.
